Donna Wiegand

Donna ‘Danuta’ Wiegand

Donna is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. In 1970, Donna moved to Ottawa where she worked for Nortel Networks. Over the 30 years at Nortel, she held various positions including the management of a Technical Writing and Illustrating department.

Early retirement from Nortel, has allowed Donna to devote more of her time to painting. She is an active member of a number of art organizations: the Nepean Fine Arts League (held position as president), the Kanata Art Club and the Ottawa West Arts Association. Her passion for painting now absorbs her on many fronts; from completing her Fine Arts certificate at St Lawrence College, completing commissioned portraits, to participating in various workshops that peak her interest, and entering numerous exhibits and sales.

Donna is a member of the Homestead Gallery and the owaa Gallery. Her works were accepted into the 2nd annual Mayor’s Art Festival in Ottawa. She has been juried into exhibits at the Marianne van Silfhout Gallery in Brockville, the Kanata Civic Art Gallery, and with ECOAA. Her works have been hung at the Atrium Gallery, Centrepointe Theatre Gallery, the Studio Gallery, the NFAL Gallery, the Ottawa Little Theatre, Carleton University, the Nepean Museum, and at the Tulip Festival. Her paintings are held in private collections in Canada, USA, Switzerland, St Helena, and South Africa.
