Susan Dennett

Susan is a relative newcomer to the world of watercolour. Although she has always been interested in nature and art, it wasn't until 2006 that she began to put aside time to paint. Susan took some community watercolour courses over the years, and spent time living in Holland and Belgium in the late 1990's, which gave her a new perspective on the world of art. Susan settled in Kemptville, ON in 2001 to stay at home from her job as a middle school teacher and raise her two children.

Since then, she has improved her technique by attending courses at St Lawrence College, and at Ann Gruchy's studio in North Gower, ON. Susan is an active member of the Manotick Art Association, the North Grenville Arts Guild, and Art Lending of Ottawa. Her work has been shown at various venues in and around Kemptville and Ottawa, ON.

Susan is interested in all things natural, and the beauty of ordinary places such as wildflowers and grasses. She attempts to capture small details and the play of light in her watercolour paintings which range from very precise to semi-abstract.
