Gordon Wyllie
Gordon Wyllie-Pyrographer Gordon began woodburning in 2006 after losing his mobility to MS. His burning includes scenes, animals, old autos, buildings (homes, farms, churches, town halls, etc.) He has done a number of commission works such as portaits, family pets, restored autos, etc., from clear photos provided by the purchasers. Most of the art is done on1/8" Baltic Birch Plywood, some on Basswood slabs-if available, using a Razortip SK burning system. Pointalism work is performed with a 1/32" diameter burning pen, and hair is cut, one stand at a time with a 0.0010" diameter thick skew burning pen. Forty to sixty hours is required to draw and burn most pictures.
